Our revival meeting started this morning and it started off with a great start by some great sermons today.  We are anxiously looking forward to what God has for us the rest of the week as Bro. Buster Mullins will be with us the rest of the week.  The Lord allowed us to have 12 kids to ride the bus this morning.  What a privilege and an honor it is to have these kids come to church each Sunday.

This morning for Sunday school we concluded our lesson on the armour of God.  When the Apostle Paul wrote about the armour of God he mentioned 1 word 3 times, and that word was stand.  We are to stand and fight against the Devil.  Why stand? We are told to stand because it’s the only position that is effective in fighting.  When we got saved we immediately because a soldier and was enlisted in God’s army.  As a soldier we are to endure hardness as a good soldier.  We go undergo hardship and be afflicted, and we may have to endure afflictions, but we need to endure through those hard times as a good soldier.  We should be constantly fighting.  If we are going to fight right, we cannot allow ourselves to be entangled with the affairs of this life.  What goes on around us and the things of the world does not need to entangle us.  If we are entangled by this world we will not fight correctly.  We need to get up every morning and put on the armour of God.  A way that we might can do that is while we are getting dressed physically, we can pray to God and ask Him to help us put a piece of the armour on as we are getting dressed.  Our war is real although it is spiritual.  But we do not need to be afraid because God is right beside us.  He is on our side and if He’s on our side we cannot lose.

This morning Bro. Travis Clayton preached for us to start off our revival this week.  He preached out of Psalm 16:1-11 on “Bible Principles.”  The Bible teaches that sin is a reproach to any people – Proverbs 14:34.  Sin is sin, and God’s mercy will extend for only so long.  We need to get the sin out of our lives before God’s mercy runs out.  All men everywhere must repent if they are going to heaven – Acts 17:30-31.  Repentance is doing an about face and turning all the way around.  Repentance is quitting lying and starting to tell the truth.  Baptism will not send us to heaven.  The only way for us to get to heaven is through repentance.  We should not give place to the devil – Eph. 4:26-5:8.  If we give the devil an inch he’ll take a mile.  Give him a small space and he will eventually control the whole mind if we are not careful.    We also need to shun the very appearance of evil – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-28.  If we’ve been under good preaching, we have no excuse for living and being in darkness.  Great messages have been preached at Antioch and we have no excuse for being in darkness.  If something appears to be evil, we need to stay away from it.  Revival is for the people of God.  God’s wants to revive us more than we want to be revived.

Tonight Bro. Travis Clayton was led to give his testimony of how he got saved and how God has used him over the years to do a work for him.  It was a blessing to hear his testimony this evening.
