We had a very good service tonight.  We had 4 kids to come from the bus ministry tonight.  Pastor is continuing his series on “Charity” out of 1 Corinthians 13.  Pastor preached on “Charity’s Kindness” tonight.  Kindness is a matter of life not only when it matters in life.  We capitalize on one area or one time where we were kind, but that is not how we should be as a Christian.  When are we to be kind? Kindness should be a part of the character of one who is saved.  It should be showed every day of our lives.  Kindness should be such a part of our lives that it is just something common to have.  The word kind means to show oneself mild, use kindness, or kind.  The first person we looked at was God in accordance to kindness.  In Matthew 11:30 we see that God demonstrated kindness in our burdens.  The word easy is the same word as kind in 1 Corinthians 13:4.  We can handle God’s yoke because it is easy in His kindness.  A burden can be easy because of His kindness.  We carry our burdens and fight with our burdens instead of giving it to God and getting in the yoke and letting it become easy to carry.  God helps us carry the yoke.  The burden doesn’t change; it’s the person that made it easier.  Secondly we see kindness toward His enemies – Luke 6:35.  We ought to be kind to our enemies, those that hate us.  It’s easy to be kind to someone who is kind to us, but it’s harder to be kind to someone who hates us and is not kind to us.  We should be kind to everyone, no matter what they’ve done or who they are.  We also see God’s demonstration of kindness in that we should taste that the Lord is gracious – 1 Peter 2:1-3.  Have we tasted just how kind God really is?  The word “gracious” in that verse is the same as the word as kind in 1 Corinthians 13:4.  The world has not tasted how kind God is.  We know the Lord, therefore we know His kindness.  The second person we looked at is the Christian in accordance to kindness.  In Ephesians 4:32 we see that we should be kind one to another.  It’s not always easy, but for the most part it is easy to be kind one to another.  We are to be kind one to another.  Kindness is a demonstration or a seen character of our life because of the love that God put in our heart when we got saved.  The verses on kindness are a lot easier to read than they are to put into action.  How kind are we to our spouses, our kids, our siblings, our parents, etc.  Kindness is a direct character of having the love of God.  The act of goodness is seen in suffering long.  What we’re suffering through, we shouldn’t make other suffer through it as well.  Kindness never runs out of its sweetness.  In 1 Corinthians 15:33 we see that talking about people will cut our kindness out.  The word “good” is the same as the word “kind” in 1 Corinthians 13.  Anger will also cut our kindness out.  Hanging around the wrong people will ruin our kindness.  Our kindness will hang around our kindness.  Are you kind? How’s your kindness?
