What a wonderful day it was to spend the day in the Lord’s house in the day that we celebrate His birthday.  What a great day it was today as we were able to see one person saved this morning in our Spanish ministry that we have at our church.  There would be no greater day than today to ask the Lord into your heart.  We had 3 kids to ride the bus this morning.

This morning for Sunday school we took a small break and looked the birth of Christ this morning.  We looked at Luke 2:1-7 and we saw how Jesus was born in a stable and was laid in a manger.  There was no room for Joseph and Mary in the inn so Jesus was born in a stable.  Mary wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger (a feeding trough for the animals).  Jesus became flesh because He loved man and wanted mankind to be able to go to heaven.  He was born so that He could become our sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.  What love Jesus has for every person that has been born, is born, and will be born one day.  There is not a person that God doesn’t love.  He loved us and did all the He did with joy because He knew the end results.  Jesus being born that day was the greatest gift that could ever be given to man.  And with a gift, all we have to do is receive the gift and believe that He was born of a virgin and died on the cross for our sins.  Salvation is a free gift to all who will receive it.  Have you received the gift of salvation?  Is there room in your heart for Him?  Do you make time for Him?

This morning Pastor preached out of Isaiah 9:6 on “The Reasons for unto us.”  The whole idea of His birthday is for us.  The theme for this verse is us.  People miss the true meaning of Christmas today.  They get too caught up in all the tinsel and gifts that they forget the reason for this day.  The first reason is because there had to be someone to break the chains of sin.  Sin is rampant today yet Jesus still came and was born for us.  The chain breaker was born on Christmas day.  He broke the chain that the devil has and had on our lives.  It has to become person before Christmas will mean anything to us.  Another reason is because we are a group of people without a plan and He came to make a plan for our lives.  The plan was set up by God because God was the one with the plan.  In everything we do, we look for a plan.  The enemy has a plan but so does God, and His plan is greater.  His plan was from before the beginning of time.  Another reason is because God knew we needed a new King.  Sin at one time was our king, and God knew we needed a new King to run our lives.  The old king was only ruining our lives and wrecking them, and God came so that we could have a new life and a new King to control our lives that would bring true joy and happiness.  When we get saved, Jesus becomes the King of our lives.  We have let ourselves reign enough and we have let the devil reign way too long in our lives. It is time for a new King.  The fourth reason is because we needed someone to love us.  The world is out of love this morning.  The world is looking for someone to love them.  God love us even when we are unlovable.  A friend may not love at all times and to the end, but God is someone who will love at all times and will love us to the end.  We love Him, because He first loved us.  All of these worlds goods does not mean much compared to the love of Christ and the gift He gave us.  The last reason is because we needed someone to save us.  A lot of people say they don’t need someone to save them, but we ALL are in need of being saved.  We need saving because we cannot save ourselves.  We need saving from our sins and from our ways, and from the bondage the devil has on us.  Does Jesus reign in your heart today?  Is He the King of your life?  Have you ever come to a place in your life where you realized this world cannot bring happiness and you realize you are in need of a Savior?  If you are saved, we should be thankful that God became flesh so that we might live with Him.
