We had a great day in the Lord’s house today. Today we celebrated our Pastor’s 6th anniversary as being our Pastor. After our morning service we had lunch in the fellowship hall to celebrate our Pastor and his family’s 6th anniversary with us. We had 14 kids on the bus this morning with no new riders this morning.

This morning for Sunday school we looked at Mordecai and how he always did right. He was living in captivity in the land of Persia yet he still did that which was right. He did not do that which was right in his own eyes, but he did that which was right in the eyes of God. How much opposition did Mordecai go through in his life for doing what was right? As a Christian we should strive to always do what is right in the eyes of God. No it is not always easy and it is not always popular but we should strive to do what is right. Our enemy the devil is doing his best to keep us from doing what is right because he wants us to do what is wrong. The devil wants to destroy our lives as much as possible, and by tempting us to do evil, and us yielding to that temptation he destroys our lives a day at a time. Every time the devil tempts us he is throwing punches at us trying to knock us out. We have got to guard ourselves and throw punches back at the devil by doing that which is right and by reading our Bible, praying, memorizing Scripture, and by listen to the preacher preach the Word of God. Are you doing what is right in the sight of the Lord or are you yielding to the temptation of the devil?

This morning Pastor preached out of James 1:13-15 on “Sin Will Get Finished with You.” Sin will run you all the way to the end. The first thing we see is the temptation of sin. The word tempted means the enticement of sin. Sin has pleasure and is fun for a season. There is fun in fornication, drugs, alcohol, etc for a season. One day the pleasure of sin will run out and it will end in destruction. We also see the teasing of sin. The words entice means to deceive, to catch by bait, to draw away from a safe place. Sin will put a hook into your life. The devil has bait for us and is doing his best to draw us away and lure us into sin. He paints sin up really good for us to try and entice us to enter into sin. If we get in love with God and soak in the Word of God we will not yield to the bait that the devil has planted for our lives. There is also the trap of sin. The trap of sin is a permanent capture. There is no if lust will conceive because lust will conceive, just give it time. It is hard to get back to God once we’re trapped in sin. When the devil gets 1 hook in us he will keep bringing them until we are so hooked we don’t know how to get out of all the hooks the devil has on our lives. Lastly we see the tragedy of sin. Sin will bring death. We will lose our virginity and we will never be able to get it back. The devil is after anyone, no matter our age. When sin gets done it will be death. Sin is not ok. One bite of sin and we will be hooked, the devil will make sure of that. Sin, does it have a hold on your life?

Tonight Pastor preached on “Remember Thy Creator” out of Ecclesiastes 12:1. God has to be the Creator in our life before there will be a change in our life. Procrastinators never get anything done. There is no time to procrastinate. Evil days are coming one day, which we can count on in life. What we remember now and learn now, we will be able to use them later when the evil days come in our lives. We don’t need to let our lust override our life. We need to remember our Creator because there is a chance we might forget. The cares of this world will surround us one day and if we are not careful we will forget who our Creator is. The carelessness of time will get away from us. We will think we have plenty of time, when we need to remember we are never promised tomorrow or our next breath. Time goes by quickly, more quickly than we realize or take note of. We need to remember our Creator because there are greater opportunities to serve God. We should serve the Lord with gladness. We have a lot of great opportunities to serve God. We don’t need to miss the years of opportunity that God has given us. We should get involved as much as we can. The younger we serve, the more time we have to serve God. Lastly there is a great opportunity for us to do more for God. The younger we serve the greater we can do. The older should pave roads for the younger to serve on. We will do more for the work of God. We need to learn to study the Bible so that one day we will be ready to do God’s will for our lives. We should serve and do all that we can for God. God has given us the ability to serve and do and we need to use the abilities God has given us. As a youth are you remembering the Lord? As an older person did you remember God in your youth? Remember NOW because later NEVER comes.

Tomorrow night starts our youth revival. The services begin at 7:30 p.m. each night. Bro. Michael Lindsey will be preaching for us Monday-Wednesday night and Bro. Barry Philbeck will be preaching Thursday and Friday night. We are having a special service on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
