CAN YOU FIND ME A REAL CHRISTIAN Acts 11:21-26
INTRODUCTION: The word Christian is found three times in the Bible: 1. Acts 11:26 “And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch—and they were trying to make fun of them" a. Because they were different and people knew it b. Because they were dedicated to their love for the LORD c. Because they wanted to please God
2. Acts 26:28 “Agrippa said unto Paul, “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian" 3. I Peter 4:16 “If any man suffer as a Christian"
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN A PERSON THAT IS A CHRISTIAN:
I. BY THEIR FRUITS A. You will know them—Matt. 7:16-18 1. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit 2. A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit
B. He will be a help to the work of Christ 1. Many people today bring shame on His Name 2. You won’t act without thinking if you are a Christian 3. You won’t like the way of this world
II. BY WHAT THEY FEED ON A. They like to eat—Matt. 4:4 “Man shall not live by bread alone.” 1. They will delight themselves in fresh milk from the Pastor 2. They will grow by eating meat a. Not out of the garbage can b. Not on onions and garlic c. Giving themselves to the work B. There are those that are going to help build the Church
III. BY THE FELLOWSHIP THEY KEEP A. They won’t live in darkness—II Cor. 6:14 1. You can’t make me believe that a Christian likes to joke about holiness 2. You can’t make me believe that a Christian likes the cursing crowd 3. You can’t make me believe that a Christian can stomach a fornicator 4. You can’t make me believe that a Christian can keep company with a drunk
B. They will love the light and seek it daily 1. They will go to special meetings 2. They will get help in truth 3. They will stand with the Pastor 4. They will give of themselves
