Bro. Young, I picked up a tract from among many supplies on our table in the fellowship hall at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Columbia, MS. and I wanted to say a special "thank you" to you and your church. Some had trees on their houses, other houses were damaged, some were spared as mine was. Many of us lost our freezer food. We are still without electric power going on 17 days. No one was injured that I know of . Everything is getting better and the Lord is still blessing. Many thanks for caring and may God bless. Thanks, L. Sullivan

"Thank you!" to you, your family & Antioch Baptist Church for ALL you have done for us personally, and for our community!!! Bro. David, if you had just showed up at the door that Thursday..... just seeing you would have been a blessing!!! But...you did MUCH more than that!! Thank you for the ice and WATER, food and paper supplies, and the special treats, that brought big smiles to the kids' faces (and the parents!!!) Thank you for the GAS!!! to keep us able to make the ice/water trips and run the generator a little, enough to recharge items! And, thanks for the trips to the Church and neighborhoods with supplies - - not telling how many families were helped!! Thanks for the great dinner on Friday night! You really know how to shop! And thanks for the FUN - yes, all the laughing and kidding and fellowship! Again, if you had just shown up that would have been a blessing, but thanks for EVERYTHING!!
God bless you ALL! J. Wellman & Family - Gulfport, MS
Dear Church Members, Words could never express how much we appreciate the items that you sent to us during the recovery of Hurricane Katrina. Even though we suffered a good bit of property damage and are still without power and other utilities, we have so much to be thankful for and we are blessed to still have a home and all of our family members. God has always blessed us and he continues to do so in times such as these. Your thoughtfulness and kindness is just a reminder of the many blessings that He gives us. We were so excited and grateful to receive the care package that you sent. Thank you all again for your kindness and support. Sincerely, The Kelly Family - Seminary, Mississippi
September 26, 2005 This note of gratitude is sent especially to express sincere appreciation of all your thoughtfulness. May God Bless each and everyone who had a part in giving and sharing of the food that was sent to Gospel Light Baptist Church, Pastor Tim Weems. We greatly appreciated it. May God's riches blessings be yours. Thank you, Mrs. T. Cooley - Laurel, Mississippi
September 16, 2005 Dear Pastor Young and loving Church family, As I opened the CARE packages I could visualize the children bringing in cereal and canned foods. I thought about the women of the church talking together as they filled each box with thoughtful kindness. The men who delivered it to me in my ruined house gave my husband and I hope beyond this world. Jesus Loves. The gift of food, toilet tissue, crackers and Vienna sausage and how wonderful: cookies, Russell Stover chocolates, and moon pies!) was good for our bodies - We need that and will put it to full use. The Gospel of John and Romans feeds our spirits - knowing that someone we never met cares enough to provide our needs, both physical and spiritual, touches my heart. Of all the times in my 70 years of life that I've helped prepare CARE packages for others, I never expected to need any. After Camille in the 60's we got no help. My house was gone, my children were hungry and my old daddy needed medical treatment. Family came through for us and a friend brought mops and purex. Now a church family has given two elderly people a bright new hope that the world is truly a better place because Jesus Loves! Yours in Christ, Mrs. L. Wheeler - Mississippi
September 19, 2005 Dear Pastor Dr. Ronald Young at Antioch Baptist Church, Hi, My name is M. Touchstone. My husband is R. Touchstone and we have seven children, three still at home. We are a Christian family. We live in Wiggins, Ms. We are victims of hurricane Katrina. Blessed by God to have what we do, blessed by God to have neighbors like you guys. We sustained tree damage to our home as everyone. We lost all our trees, fence, damage to the roof, had a large tree limb go through the roof over our kitchen, but was blessed by God to have come out as good as we did. We were without power 14 days and water 14 days, our water is still having to be boiled. My heart goes out to the people who have no homes or beds. You guys know the devastation I'm sure. I just wanted to say from the bottom of my-our hearts thank you - THANK YOU so much for the food we received from your church family in our time of need. There's truly no words to express the thankfulness we here in Mississippi feel for the love and kindness shown by all mankind, except Amen, Praise God in Heaven. Today! I received this food, that was truly needed, today I had to write to say thank you and God Bless you all. Love, Friends through Jesus Christ, The Touchstone's - Wiggins, Mississippi Ps. This warms our broken spirits. |
