In this chapter Paul is talking to saved people. We are all bombarded with sin every day of our lives. We are all tempted to be deceived, and we are easily deceived if we are not careful.
What are some things that will change?
- He will change our question about what sin is.
It does not matter what sin is, there is always a justification about it if we are questioning what sin is.
We question what sin is when we get away from God and get cold on God.
We say “what is wrong with this sin”.
We spend too much time trying to decide what sin is and what sin is not.
Carnal people can justify sin, but someone that is close to God cannot justify sin.
When we have to prove what sin is, we are out of place with God.
Live close to God so we do not have to prove what we are doing.
- He will change our character about us.
The way we are today should not be how we used to be.
Quit making excuses of how we are.
“And such were some of you”
We used to do be and do things that are wrong.
He will change our God.
Whatever makes us miss church is our god.
When we make a mistake we should fix it, not justify it.
We are supposed to smell differently as a Christian.
We are supposed to be clean and stay clean – 1 John 1:9
We are set apart – we are sanctified.
If we are sanctified, we will not question what sin is, we will not be deceived.
If we are saved, we should have changed the day of our salvation, and we should continually be changing in our lives spiritually. If we are not changing something is wrong with our lives. A true Christian is a changed person.
This morning we had 25 kids to ride the bus with 2 of them being first time riders this morning. What an honor and what a blessing.
