“The Countenance of Stephen”
Acts 6:15

Stephen was looking good in the eyes of the Lord. He had full acceptance from God in his life. We ought to esteem a man of God that walks close to God. God looked at Stephen like the face of an angel. Do we desire God to look at us that way?
What was Stephen full of that made his countenance stand out?
- He was full of the desires to do right – v.3a
He had an honest report. He was upright in his living.
God wants us to be honest and upright.
It is easy to tell a lie, which is why we should be careful in our talking.
Be honest in our dealings with other people.
The touch of God will be displayed when we are doing right.
Do we desire to do right?
Our heart is what will have us live right.
- He was full of the Holy Ghost – v. 3b
It used to be that everybody wanted to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
When we are filled with the Holy Ghost the Bible makes perfect sense to us.
Each step will be right where God wanted it to be when we are filled with the Holy Ghost.
- He was full of faith – vs. 8
He just believed God.
He knew God was taking and will take care of him.
How often are we witnessing. We witness because of faith, because we believe God can change a person.
Walk in faith and we will not doubt our salvation.
If we had the faith that we say we have, we would be having revival tonight.
- He was full of the divine power of God – vs. 8b
He got something done.
When he prayed something happened.
When he labored something happened.
Power with God will cause us to do God’s work.
We have to have his power to be a Christian and to be an over comer.
The power of God is available to everyone.
We have to be honest with God to have the power of God in our life.
- He was full of the Scriptures – v. 7
We need to have something to give out from the Scriptures.
We need to learn and know what we believe.
When we leave church we need to go away with something in our vessel.
- He was full of courage – 7:51-53
He courageously gave out the message of God.
He was bold in his preaching.
- He was full of love – 7:60
He loved those that stoned him to his death.
Are we looking good when God looks down on us? Are we concerned about the little things in our life? We should be honest with God; that we would be what god wants us to be. How do we want God to see us?
