God wants His knowledge and His love to meet together.

God’s love and God’s knowledge must be mixed; if not, we will puff ourselves up because of our knowledge.  Our knowledge will go to our head.

  1. Learn to care about being a stumbling block – v.9

This chapter is not to lost people, but rather it is to the saved.

We need to learn to care about the weak.

Our sins that we have done that we talk about can be a stumbling block to someone else.

We need to do right and we need to care as well.

If what we are doing is hurting someone else, we need to stop doing it for their sake.

Isaiah 57:14; Romans 14:13

Do we care about others?

If we are saved we are a role model to someone else.

  1. Learn to care about those that are weak – vs. 10-11

Learn to care about the weak because we are a leader.

Weak – feeble.

We do not need to lead the weak into something that will be a hindrance to them.

If we know a person’s weakness we should help them and encourage them instead of being a stumbling block to them.

We need to be careful of what we are doing.

We should learn to say “I’m sorry” when we have done someone wrong.

  1. Learn to care about what Christ thinks – v. 12

When we are a stumbling block we sin against Christ.

We have not just sinned against the person we hurt, but we have sinned against Christ as well.

1 Samuel 2:25

When we hurt the Lord, we are in trouble.

If we willingly hurt someone else God will judge us.

It is His child that we do not care about if we are being a stumbling block to them.

Do we really care about others like we should?  We influence others more than we realize, and we should start thinking about that before we hurt someone else with our life.
