There is a carrying on of the burden of Elijah in Elisha.
Elijah told Elisha that he had asked for a hard thing when he wanted a double portion of what Elijah had.
You want the power like Elijah had but you do not want to go through the process to get it.
- Elijah always reckoned the enablement of God in his life
Elijah stood before God.
Elijah knew there had to be this in order for him to do what he did for god.
You cannot stand before men until you stand before God.
Elijah stood before God many times before he stood before Ahab.
He was a man that would listen to God.
Over and over again it says “and the word of the Lord came…”
Every time God spoke Elijah listened.
God wants to work in your life.
Everything we do must have the enablement of God on it.
- There will always be an encounter.
One confrontation after another will happen in your life.
If God is on your side there is a confrontation you will have to face.
You want a life filled with smooth roads, but that does not happen in the life of a Christian.
No one ever lives a Christian life without an encounter.
1 Kings 18:17-18
The enemy will encounter you when you begin to live for God.
The devil is going to jump on you every time.
When God chooses to do something, the enemy will come out and fight.
The fight will never change.
If you are not battling, you are fixing to get ready for a battle.
- Be some expectations of your life by others.
Quit talking about everybody else and experience God in your life like them.
Get your own experiences of God in your life.
In the God of Elijah there were some expectations.
People have expectations of your life when you say you life for the real true God.
The world expects some things out of you.
The world thinks a Christian should act certain ways, just ask them.
- Eternal blessings when you follow the God of Elijah.
God will always take care of you.
It does not take the confrontations and enemy away.
He will help you even when you are hurting.
The biggest blessing for Elijah was for him to walk by a garden one day plowing and the young boy said he wanted to go with him.
