“We Have Something to Rejoice About”

Psalm 32:1-11

By:  Pastor

August 19, 2018 – SM

He delighted in the fact that God helped him when he was not right with God.

God deals with your sin and you should rejoice over it.

  1. 1 talks about transgressions – Rebellion

He trespassed, and rejoiced God showed him he was wrong and helped him fixed it.

God wants to help you in your transgression.

  1. 2 talks about iniquity.

He’s not arguing, he was thanking God his iniquity is not found on his account.

God was helping him get fixed where he was wrong.

He is showing us how great God is.

The closer you want to get to the Lord, the harder it will get.

With God you will not get away with trespassing on God.

  1. Because your transgressions were carried away – v. 1a

Your sins have been carried away, that you do not deserve and God has given you peace.

You do not forgive someone that is not guilty.

You ought to be rejoicing, yet you are sad and depressed.

Your sins are not coming back, they are gone.

  1. Because your sins are covered – v. 1b

Your sin is covered by the blood of Jesus and they will never be remembered again.

You remember your sins, but God does not remember them.

You struggle with your sin, but God does not struggle with them and never will.

  1. Because your sins have not been calculated against you – v. 2

God does not put your sins together by adding them up.

Your sin is not charged to you.

When God looks at you through Jesus Christ, you are innocent.

God is not rubbing your sin in your face; He is trying to help you.

  1. When your sins are confessed – v. 5

Nothing is hid from God.

If you confess you’re your sins He will forgive you.

When you confess your sins to God you will hide nothing from Him.

You are not close to God because you are not honest with God about your sins.

Get to where you do not want to carry it any more.

Be honest with men in all things, but most importantly be honest with God.

You will not get away with your sins with God.

  1. Because your cry is heard when you call – v. 6

God will not hear just anybody, He will hear the godly.

You will cry when you want a closer relationship with God.

Strive to keep a clean slate and clean relationship with God.

Talk to God while He can be found.

Keep a short tab with God, because He will not always strive with man and He will not always be found.

  1. My life is circled by the Lord

2 Kings 6:17

If you will see the Lord more, maybe the young people in your church will see the Lord as well.

He is standing around you and protecting you.

God is compassing you about, He’s all around you.

  1. When you care about how you respond to God – vs. 9-10

Be so that you care about the direction of God for your life.

Care about what God thinks.

Do it because you want to do it.

God can make you do it, but you should not be that way.

Don’t make God force you.
