If you’re saved, you are not your own; you have been bought with a price.

A called out life is a life that is changing for God.

If you’re saved you have been called out from this world, and from wickedness, and from sin, and from darkness.

Be sensitive to being different.

Being different is an everyday battle that you will face.

Do your actions back up your works of being a called out Christian?

You need to keep this in the forefront of your life.

  1. Praise will be displayed in your life – v. 9c

Show to the world the good qualities that God has.

You are to display the wondrous works of God.

The world does not understand, therefore we as Christians need to show who God is.

Display works to this lost world.

You should magnify God with your life.

Let it be a mark in your home.

It is not just talking about words, but deeds as well.

  1. Out to be light seen in your life – v. 9d

What is light?  Could it be the truth?

This world is packed full of liars.

The world likes the truth, though they may not accept it.

Showing light means showing truth.

Showing light to this world means showing contentment.

Be content with what you have.

The world is never content, so showing contentment with what you have leaves a good testimony in their sight.

Your light should shine forth and make a difference in the world.

  1. Takes on the new habits of the new people – v. 10a

Think of the life of Ruth.

She took on the life of a Bethlehemite.

She wanted her life to be different than what it was before.

Your life should look like you came from a different country.

When God speaks to your heart about something, receive it in your heart.  It will become a way of life for you.

Think of Moses and how he chose to suffer with Israel than to be in Pharaoh’s house.

He could not live Pharaoh’s lifestyle because he was in a different family.  He did not fit in.

God wants others to know you are different.

  1. Has replaced joy with our miserable life.

Mercy – goodwill to the miserable.

Have joy about you.  There should be joy.

Joy should break out on you from time to time.

Have joy whether it’s good times or bad times.

Remember your miserable life before salvation and it will bring joy to your life.

You have more to be joyful for than you realize.

When bad times come, joy should not go out the door in your life.

  1. Fights hindrances that will take you off the path – v. 11

If you obtain from the fleshly lusts, maybe the fight will not be as bad.

A lot of your battles are self-made battles.

The devil will put things in your life to draw you away.

Those fleshly lusts will get you off your path.

Your problems will grip you if you are not careful.

Do not care more about your cares than you do about the things of God.

Whatever it is, you have to have it.  You’re covetous desires will kill you if you do not get it take care of.

  1. Life that will strive for a consistent life – v. 12

The world is watching all that you do.

The world watches as you go through troubles and trials.

Be a steady, consistent Christian.

How any marks do you have in your life?

If it concerns you or bothers you, you’re on the right path.

You can live a called out life.  The rewards will be different than in others lives.
