Acts 1:4-9

Jesus was here giving His 11 disciples His last bit of instructions for them.

  1. Command was to wait – v. 4

It was important to get their power and essentials in place first.

Giving the gospel in the power of the flesh is worse than not giving the gospel at all.

Being filled with the Holy Ghost is essential.

  1. Wait on the power of God.

The power has been provided, who do it in the flesh?

You lack having the power of God on your life.

It is not about what you know; you must be endowed with the power of God.

You know how to do it.

  1. Wait on His divine presence – 2:4

Every person needs to be controlled by the Holy Ghost.

Let God be a part of your life.

Desire and crave God’s presence in your life.

  1. Wait for His divine proof – 1:3; 2:22

That He is who he said He is.

You have all the proof you need that God is who He said He is.

The Word of God is enough proof about God.

  1. Command to witness – v. 8

Anybody can be a witness.

You were not there at Calvary when Jesus died, but you have seen the transformation that took place in your life and that has made you a credible witness.

Has there ever been a change in your life?

If you were quickened you are able to be a witness for Christ.

It is amazing how powerful a witness can be.

He left you here to reach the world.

Go, baptize, and teach is all part of the great commission.

How many are you discipling, or have discipled?

You have to get back to the basics.

You have room to improve.

  1. Command was the world – v. 8

You have to soul-win here and send missionaries to the world, and they must be done simultaneously.

Everyone deserves to hear the gospel.

Give to faith missions and go soul-winning is how you get both jobs done simultaneously.

Are you doing everything you can?

Are you getting the gospel out to the world?

No matter how much you are doing, you can do a little bit more.
