“Handling the Presence of God”
1 Chronicles 15:11-14

- Not to be handled as the world – 1 Samuel 5
There was jealousness in the presence of God
They had the form of godliness but the denied the power of God.
The ark of God was in Philistine, but the presence of God was not.
The world has no problem with putting the presence of God with their god.
The world will mix God with the god of their life, whether it be drugs or alcohol, or an immoral life style.
No god will ever be able to stand before God.
There was a judgment in the presence of God – I Samuel 6
God did not judge them because of how they handled the presence of God but them having it.
They did not know how to handle the presence of God.
- It cannot be manhandled – 1 Chronicles 13:5-12
David tried to bring the presence of God back like the Philistines did.
To get the presence of God back David tried to act just like the world.
Uzza was of the right tribe to handle the Ark, but he handled it wrongly.
Carrying the Ark the right way will never cause confusion.
- Must be handled with sanctification – 1 Chronicles 15:11-14
The Levites had to clean themselves first.
They had to offer sacrifices for their sins before they could handle the presence of God.
There is a set of rules and a set of standards to be followed when dealing with the presence of God.
There must be an inward cleansing and an outward cleansing.
There will be music and singing in your life as a demonstration of the presence of God.
The presence of God lives inside of those that are saved.
Ephesians 5:18-21
The presence of God is available to every born again believer.
The presence of God does not like being around the filth of this world.
How much does the Holy Spirit have control over you?
The command is given here in these verses but they are many times ignored.
Too many times we are more interested in the things of this world than we are in the presence of God.
It will produce a thanksgiving
When was the last time you thanked God for what you have?
What we have today is because of Christ.
It will produce submission
Submission to others proves you are being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Is submission easy? No, but it is necessary to be filled with the Holy Spirit
Do what you can so you can please God.
Be careful how you handle the presence of God. It must be handled in the right way.
We can have it, but we must handle it correctly, and do it His way.
We can have it, but do you want it?
To get the presence of God, you must turn your heart to Him.
How much are you being controlled by the Spirit of God? The amount is up to you.
