  1. Speaks of a method in which it is performed.

Do it the same way the Lord did it.

Today it is done just like Paul and Jesus did it when they were alive on earth.

Jesus gave thanks for His death and he had not died yet.

It showed the life and importance of a servant.

Jesus blessed it and brake it.

Jesus was the servant here at the Lord ’s Supper.

  1. Speaks of the memory of the Lord’s death

There was going to be a New Covenant when He died.

You do not have to go back to the old way.

It should be done continually and with care.

The Lord’s Supper should be a serious time in your life.

  1. It was a particular meal.

It was served with unleavened bread

Unleavened bread it used because Jesus was without sin and leaven speaks of sin in the Bible.

Jesus lived a perfect life on earth; He had no sin, no leaven in His life.

The bread is bitter in taste, and that speaks of the bitter death that Jesus died for your sins.

It was served with the fruit of the vine.

Speaks of the blood that He shed for you on the cross.

Jesus would never condemn wine in the Bible and then use it for His blood at the Lord’s Supper.

  1. It speaks with a great meaning

His broken body was given for your healed body.

His life was broken so that yours could be fixed.

Remember what Jesus has done in your life.

There should be brokenness in your life at the Lord’s Supper.

His sinless blood was given for your sins so that you do not have to die for your sins.

You got the best end of the deal.

God gave His best for the very worst.

He died as your substitute.

  1. Speaks of a mandate

You have to be saved.

You are unworthy to partake of the Lord’s Supper, but if you are saved, you are made worthy through the Lord’s blood.

You are worthy because of Him.  He makes you worthy.

You must examine yourself.

How is your life?

Is your life clean, or is there unconfessed sin in your life?  Get it out of your life.

The Lord’s Table is a clean table, and you need to be clean when you are there.
