This morning the Lord allowed us to have 16 kids to ride the bus with 2 of them being first time riders. What a privilege and an honor we have in being able to pick up these kids and bring them to church.
“Lord Give Me Heartburn Again”
Luke 24:1-35

At one time they followed Him and had served Him Who they trusted to be Jesus. Of all the people Jesus hose to walk with, He chose these two men that day. Their faith was beginning to waver and Jesus came to them to strengthen their faith. Their trust in Jesus had dissipated since His death, as the verse says the word “trusted.” If they were to get back to where they were, they had to allow some things to happen in their life.
- The Scriptures are going to have to be revealed by the Savior.
He began at Moses and preached to them.
God opened the Scriptures unto them as they walked down the road.
He revealed the Scriptures sadly – because of their doubt.
He revealed the Scriptures satisfying – Used Moses, as Moses believed in God.
- The sincerity of the saints will be seen
Jesus made them think He was going on, but He wasn’t going to go on.
The two men constrained Jesus to stay with them.
God just wanted someone to walk with and to have fellowship with.
The two men cared about Jesus. They wanted Him to stay with them.
They did not want the presence of God to leave their life.
- The servant is always seen by the sacrifice.
Jesus was known unto them by His breaking of bread.
Maybe they caught a glimpse of the wounds in His hands as He was breaking bread.
Maybe they thought back to his miracle of feeding the 5,000 where the bread never ran out.
How is our heart? Are we close to God, or are we cold towards God? The same things that happened to these two men must happen to us if we are to get back to God, and to have our hearts burn within us. The Scriptures must be revealed. We must allow God to reveal His Word to our heart if we are to be closer to the Lord. God wants to have fellowship with us and to walk with us each day. Jesus will meet with us if we really want Him. We can have God’s presence with us wherever we go. Desire the presence of God in our life every day. We have to have God every day in order for us to live for Him. If we ever need God to burn in our hearts it is today. The world will only see God when our hearts are on fire for God. Is your heart on fire for God, or is it cold on God?
