“The Call of God”
Proverbs 1:10-33

June 24, 2018 – SM
A call is made before calamity ever comes.
There was a call to get them in the place God wanted them to be.
- The reality of the call of God – v. 21
It is a call to all, not to just one person.
You should listen to the call of God while He is still calling.
The call of God should be of great importance in your life.
God takes His time to give the calling out.
God is still calling out to those He knows that will reject His call.
God is still calling to the lost and to the saved as well. He is calling to the lost in salvation and to the saved in service.
God knows the rejection was coming yet He still sent the call to them.
God is calling but it is your choice if you receive the call or not.
- The reproof in the call of God – vs. 23, 30
Reproof – a correction and punishment.
There is punishment if you do not answer God’s call.
People do not want the judgment of God but they will not answer His call.
Just because the world is doing it does not mean it is right.
Men do not want to hear the reproof that God has to give them.
You will live in misery for the rest of your life if you do not answer the call. You will live a bitter life.
- The refusal of the call – v. 24
Their refusal was not a casual “no” but it was utter refusal.
God has continuously been calling, yet they keep saying “no” to God.
It is one thing to refuse something but to utterly refuse something from someone that is nice can make us you mad; yet God does not get mad when His call is refused.
The hand of God is in your life whether you see it or not.
Men are utterly refusing what God has to offer them.
The world has nothing to do with God.
- No regard for the call – v. 24
It was as if He was not even there.
No regard of the hand of God on their life.
Some recognize the hand of God, but they will not regard it.
God puts His hand out to the lost and saved; yet it is not regarded.
His call does not have to be regarded you can act like it never even happened.
How many times do you leave out of the church service and you ignore the call of God through the sermon that was preached?
Will you answer or disregard the call of God on your life?
Regard it long enough that when you want to talk to Him, He will not talk to you.
- The reception to the call – v. 33
If you hearken (God has your undivided attention) there will be safety and no fear of evil.
If you will follow Him you will dwell safely and be quiet from fear of evil.
Is God talking to you about your soul in need of salvation? Today is the day of salvation.
Is God talking to you about service?
Answering the call of God will never be a mistake in your life. It will be the greatest thing you could ever do with your life.
