“The Examination of the Lamb”

Isaiah 53:1-12 and John 1:28-29

You need to look at Him real good.

When God’s people sacrificed they had to examine the lamb to make sure it was perfect.

Jesus looked perfect; there was no spot or blemish in His life.

  1. A divine appointment for the lamb to be here.

It was God’s best that He gave.

God gave His best for the worst.

It wasn’t just any lamb.

God had a timetable, and sent Him here right on time right when He wanted.

He was a burden bearing lamb.  He was big enough, strong enough, and perfect enough to carry your sins away.

The sad reality is the rejection of the lamb by the world.

His ministry is to bear your burdens.

  1. His desire for your service – vs. 36-37

Jesus had a direction He was going.

God wants you to keep going in His service.

God is going in His direction whether you follow Him or not.

He wants you to listen to what He has to say.

You have a list of excuses for why you don’t follow and listen to Him.

Examine where He dwells.

Jesus wanted them to stay with Him.

God dwells in those that are saved.

They desire to have a closer relationship with God.

It has to go further than following God; it has to be a committed dwelling with Him.

You will not follow Him if you do not examine Him.

  1. From the Scriptures – Acts 8

You need to read the Bible and study the Bible to examine Him.

When you examine Him through the Scriptures it is convincing.

Because Peter was in the Scriptures he could explain them.

You do not talk much about Him because you do not examine Him.

If you examine Him, you will get close to God.

  1. In His purity – Rev. 5:11-12

They worshipped Him saying He is worthy.

He talks to you yet you are unworthy.

He is pure in all that He does.

Examine God and you will stay in church; examine others and you will not.

You will have the Rev. 5 attitude if you examine Him.

Have a close walk with the Lord.

If you do not examine Him you will start examining something else.

BUS MINISTRY UPDATE:

This morning we had 48 kids to ride the bus.  There were 38 riders from the McDuffie side and 10 riders from the Columbia County side.  Pray that God will continue to bless the bus ministry.
