“The Inward Working of God”
Philippians 2:1-13
Bro. Joe Bryant
August 05, 2018 – SN
You will have revival because you allow the Spirit of God to work in your life.
God wants to be glorified in your life; He saved you for a purpose.
God deserves first place in your life.
If you obey Him, revival will come.
Revival produces a thanksgiving for what God has done in your life.
Revival will be documented by rearranged homes, and a changed life pattern.
- Psalm 41:1-3 – God produces a heart that hungers for God.
It does not produce what He can do, but it is about God Himself.
Something is wrong if you do not hunger after God.
Your hunger for God is greater at some times than at other times.
God puts a fire in your heart and the Spirit fans those flames.
God creates a hunger, the want to in your life for God.
If you are saved you should have a desire for the things of God.
God is always with us but sometimes we do not sense Him.
If you hunger and thirst after righteousness you will be filled. Too many times you hunger and thirst after too many other things.
Do you have an intense desire for God to work in your life?
- Psalm 51:3-12 – Creates an ear that is listening
David recognized his sin.
God deserves to be first in your life.
A listening ear is tuned to obedience.
How many times has God spoken to you and you are not listening?
When God speaks to your heart you will not apply it to anyone else, the message is for you.
The Spirit of God cannot work in you when you are full of rebellion.
God speaks to you in a still small voice.
- Psalm 37:30 – A tongue that is tamed.
How many sins do you commit with your tongue?
The tongue is probably the greatest tool that the devil uses.
There are too many loose tongues in churches today.
The Spirit of God will control your tongue.
You do much damage when your tongue is loose.
It is the little things that are killing us.
- Psalm 51:13 – A vision that is renewed.
Where there is no vision the people perish.
You do not respond because you do not see the need.
A life of vision will be a life characterized by joy.
God gives you the vision of what you could do.
What are you going to do about it?
Will you allow God to send revival in your heart?
A real revival will last and will make a lasting impression in your life.
Take your hands off your life and surrender it all to Him.
