“The Tragedy of Dying With Clean Nets”
Luke 5:1-11

December 09, 2018 – SM
Peter, James, and John’s lives were turned around and their direction was changed forever when they decided to drop their nets and be obedient to Jesus.
When you get more concerned about your nets than you do about what God wants you to do is a scary place to be in.
- The missed opportunities.
They had everything God needed; He just needed them to surrender everything to Him.
If they had said “no”, they would have missed a lot of opportunities.
If you say “no” to drop your net for God, you will miss the opportunities that God has in store for your life in the future.
Keep doing what you are supposed to do and God will keep using you greater and greater as time goes on.
- Discouraged fishermen.
They had done everything they could do and still they caught nothing all night.
If you feel nothing has happened in what you’re doing for God, just keep doing what you are doing and leave the results up to God.
Discouragement will come, but don’t let it keep you, don’t stay discouraged.
Keep doing and working even when you’re discouraged.
- They weren’t quitting fishing.
They weren’t cleaning the nets to quit; it was to get them ready to fish again.
God knows what He wants to do with your life but you just need to keep dropping the net to fulfill that plan.
God will NEVER make you drop your nets when He asks you to.
When God tells you to drop your net, drop it without any hesitation.
- The forgotten blessings of the past.
If you do not drop your net, you will soon forget the blessings God has given you in the past.
God will bless you if you drop your nets.
Because of the past blessings you would be a fool not to drop your nets.
- Miss the greatest blessings of your life.
If you do not drop the net, you’ll miss the blessings that God has for your life.
God used one man to bless others.
God may use you as you drop your net to be a blessing to others.
You will rise up followers if you drop your net for Him.
God changed Peter’s whole life, and He will change yours if you will only drop your net.
